SOLD // Honda CT70 Trail 70 KO 1970 Candy Gold
The 1960s were booming times for the Honda Motor Company. After the incredible success of their early step-through frame models and mid-size displacement street models, Honda introduced the 50cc Mini Trail to the U.S. market in 1968 - they had been selling a similar model Monkey Bike in Japan and Europe. The Mini Trail was followed in 1969 by the 72cc CT70 (Trail 70) which cracked open the youth market with high-quality, stylized machines that adults could ride too. Both went on to huge sales results for many years.
This candy gold bike is a near matching frame/engine model (manufactured in March 1970). Showing 4751 miles, It is highly original and unmolested with tight straight handlebars and foot pegs. The gold paint is faded but shows ok with some surface corrosion, nicks and scratches - the frame is solid. The chrome is ok as well, solid but with surface corrosion in a number of areas. The Honda exhaust pipe is good and the wheels are ok with aged Bridgestone tires. The seat looks fair.
It starts on the second or third kick, does not smoke, idles, revs and runs good. Brakes are properly adjusted and the transmission shifts smoothly.
Being sold as a private sale from my personal collection. No sales tax or dealer fees. There is no title for the bike but a bill of sale will be provided.
