SOLD // TRIUMPH T140 BONNEVILLE 750 1977 BLACK/MAROON
The original Triumph Bonneville 650 (T120) dominated the high performance motorcycle category throughout the 1960s and early ‘70s until Honda, Kawasaki and Suzuki came out with their brilliant, supremely high-quality early superbikes.
With the mid-’70s heavily updated Bonneville T140 / 750cc, this beautiful bike had become refined and competitive again in quality but not quite in performance. The excellent new frame, the bored out 744cc engine (without oil leaks), disc brakes front and rear had become a reliable, fun to ride bike.
This particular machine resided with its original owner family until 2021 when it was acquired from the grandson and COMPLETLY refreshed. It shows 7300 actual miles and is virtually all original but with new Dunlop 404TF tires, fresh fluids, carbs gone through, freshened electrics (still has points) and rebuilt brakes. It starts first kick, idles, revs out, shifts brilliantly, leaks no oil and all lights, signals and horn are in working order.
The gas tank has a beautiful professional paint job and the bike looks and rides like a low milage one-year old machine. It is a spectacular example of the best edition Bonneville from the first era of Triumph.
