Triumph T100C Trophy 500 1971 Carmine Red & Black
I have owned a number of vintage Triumphs, mostly 650/750 Bonnevilles, and have come to prefer the 500 with its quicker revving motor, lighter weight and more nimble handling - lets face it, none of these bikes were fast compared to the new models we ride today!
The 500 Trophy with its gorgeous high pipes and “chips basket exhaust” shield was a more stripped down model (only a speedometer, no tach) that was often converted to a dessert or scrambles racer back in the day.
I had my eye on this particular bike for a long time. It is a numbers matching, highly original + restored, beautifully kept bike that shows only 4289 miles on the odometer - which are believed to be original. It starts on the third or fourth kick when cold, idles, revs, runs great and doesn’t smoke. Clutch and shifting is excellent and the drum brakes are as good as they get (which is pretty OK on the lighter T100 500 models). This bike is a joy to ride - remember it is a right side shift and kickstart only.
It has very nice Dunlop Gold Seal tires (tyres?) that look so very period correct for a scrambler. In the process of finishing up a few details on it; new decal set and fresh exhaust shield (original shield was painted black and comes with the bike).
