1968 Triumph Bonneville T120R Maroon
This era Bonneville is an all time favorite of mine, having owned a number of British bikes from this period. The simplicity, functionality and just great balance of performance, light weight and nimbleness make it a joy to ride. And, that free breathing, air-cooled grumble with the throaty exhaust note at full throttle is magical.
This particular bike was acquired from a high end collector of both cars and motorcycles. It had been under the ownership of this individual for 30-plus years. A full mechanical refurbishment on the all original bike was completed many years ago (I have the receipts) and the bike was beautifully displayed in a climate controlled building.
While the bike was mechanically excellent, starting on the fourth kick!, it was due for a freshening with new rubber bits, fresh Dunlop tires and a number of adjustments (brakes, throttle, etc.) and a couple new hard parts.
It is now an excellent runner and I have been riding it regularly around my Chicago neighborhood. Cosmetically, as you can see from the photos, it is excellent, perhaps an 8.5 out of a 10 scale. It is a numbers matching bike and has a clear title.
