SOLD // Yamaha YG5T 80 1968 Red
Yamaha was an early mover in responding to the growing demand for small displacement dual sport motorcycles. The YG T 80 Trail Master model was introduced in 1964, a complement to the Honda S90 and a step down from the Trail Master 100. By 1968 the Trail Master 80 YG5T had been upgraded with 17” wheels, Autolube, a high mount scrambler style pipe and electric starting for its 72cc rotary valve 2-stroke engine.
These 2-stroke trail bikes with beautiful chrome mufflers and bright colors helped ignite my passion for motorcycles when my backyard neighbor and his dad brought home a green and a yellow Yamaha in the mid 1960s and putted around their suburb sized yard.
It is very rare to see one of these bikes today and this example is breathtakingly beautiful, the finest restored version I have ever seen.
