SOLD // BMW R1200 GS 2005 Blue

Though I’ve owned 100+ motorcycles and ridden and raced most every discipline of bikes, this was my first BMW GS and I became smitten with the concept of adventure touring. This 2005 R1200 GS was acquired in 2020 with only 33,000 miles on it (just over 2,000 miles/year which is minuscule for a GS) and has undergone a cosmetic makeover and functional parts upgrade - farkles in the BMW GS vernacular. Literally no expense was spared in creating the look and performance I was seeking. This was my primary rider during the 2021 season and I clocked more than 3,000 miles.

The versatility of the GS continues to amaze me. It is great around town, lightweight (only 438 lbs) and super maneuverable and it is excellent on long highway trips as well with excellent wind protection and very comfortable seating for rider and passenger (my wife and I enjoyed a couple multi-hundred mile trips around the midwest).

In late fall 2021 my family and embarked on an eight month journey around the U.S. and into Canada (by car) and for the 2022 riding season I have been riding my new BMW K1600B so this GS has not been ridden much in the last year and a half and thus is why this beautiful GS is being offered for sale.

Upgrades include: new National Cycle windshield, carbon fiber front fender, carbon fiber Barkbuster hand guards, Sargent low-model seat, SW-Motech engine and upper body guard kit, SW-Motech adjustable foot peg system, Shorai Lithium battery, K&N air filter, graphic kits for swing arm, panniers, bodywork and wheels and Delvik carbon fiber exhaust.

The bike has been fully serviced, drive shaft, brakes, oil/filter change, new spark plugs, brand new Michelin Anakee 3 tires, all service bulletins completed at Motoworks Chicago. With only 36,000 + miles it is ready to ride!
