In 1957, Elvis Presley released the hit song "All Shook Up", the first Frisbee was produced, and the Harley-Davidson Sportster model motorcycle was introduced. This is the start of the great Harley-Davidson Sportster history. While the design and engineering has evolved over time, the Sportster is still being produced today, and it retains its status of being one of the world's most popular motorcycles.
This particular Sportster was acquired from its second owner in summer 2022, who cared for and loved it for 29 years. Truthfully, while the bike looks pretty damn good, it could have been BETTER cared for.
I had intentions of restoring this back to its AMF glory but have decided to move on to other projects. This bike starts, idles, runs and stops - shifting is a little clunky and, of course, it leaks oil. The tires have good tread but are way too old to ride on. I have put on some new parts and have some extra items that could be included in the sale. Know that while it runs/rides and stops, this bike will need work.
