Suzuki TM100 1974 Yellow/Green

1974 Suzuki TM100

In 1973 Honda cracked open the U.S. motocross market with their beautiful, highly competent and affordable Elsinore models, Honda was likely capitalizing on what Hodaka, another Japanese producer, saw earlier with their competitive, lower priced two-stroke dirt bikes. And soon - actually 1974 - the other Japanese motorcycle brands followed suit with a proliferation of dirt bike offerings sized from 50cc to 400cc.

Most interesting to me was the 100cc schoolboy class - basically a “tweener” between the mini-cycles and the 125cc bikes (if you peruse my web site you will see my fascination with 90cc motorcycles, too).

This is a beautifully restored Suzuki TM100 - TM being the predecessor to the Suzuki RM line of MX bikes. While highly original this particular bike does have ubiquitous Preston Petty fenders and the also popular, Webco cylinder head. The oil injection is still in-tact and the beautifully painted, dent and scratch free gas tank has been lined.

I purchased this as a running bike but have only displayed it in my collection. I have not filled it with gas or fired it up.
