SOLD //Harley-Davidson 35th Anniversary Dyna Superglide 2006 White
In 1971 Harley-Davidson introduced what is widely to believed to be the first “factory custom”, The Superglide. Stylist Willie G. Davidson, inspired by the burgeoning custom bike scene, mated the rear of the FL big twin model with the front of the lighter weight Sportster model to create the FX - which stood for Factory Experimental.
This line of bikes evolved over the years to become the Dyna platform. And, in Harley-Davidson tradition, the 2006 model year included a 35th Anniversary edition of the original Superglide. This Twin Cam 88 6-speed rendition, one of only 3500 produced, is my all-time favorite stock Harley. I find the lines, the proportions, the stance and the styling details to be pretty much perfect - from the shoulder-less chrome rims, the matte silver and chrome engine, the highly detailed stitched seat to the brilliant white metal flake paint, it all works together so well.
I had searched for this model bike for years and looked at a dozen plus until I found a pair of them, in Iowa. They were all-original, single owner bikes with 6,800 and 7,000 miles that were special ordered by a local Harley expert in 2005.
This one presents as nearly showroom new, includes the factory saddlebags with the stitched on #1 emblem and removable factory windshield. Other than regular fluid changes it is original, including the Harley-Davidson branded Dunlop tires.
